Wendy’s new premium salads feature 11 different greens, including spring mix. The Apple Pecan Chicken Salad, shown here, features fresh Granny Smith and red apple pieces plus blue cheese crumbles as well as premium ingredients like whole pecans.
The new salads require two hours of prep work each day, including handwashing the salad greens. Premium ingredients in the BLT Cobb Salad, shown here, include Applewood Smoked Bacon, chopped tomatoes, blue cheese crumbles and chopped hard-boiled eggs&
The Baja Salad leverages Wendy’s chili while also featuring pico de gallo, made fresh in stores, plus guacamole made with Hass avocados, cheddar and pepper jack cheeses, and tortilla strips.
Wendy’s was the first QSR to launch entrée salads in 2002. Now the new line steps up the bar, adding premium ingredients such as vine-ripened grape tomatoes and shaved Asiago cheese in its new Spicy Chicken Caesar salad, shown here.
Wendy’s launched its new slogan ’You Know When It’s Real’ in late 2009, a position reflected in its new R&D, including the Bacon & Bleu Cheeseburger, shown here. Some of the new salads leverage the burger’s toppings.
