Restaurants have more than one choice when it comes to the oil used in frying operations, but many may not realize the many benefits provided by high oleic soybean oil that extends to both operations and customers.
A free one-hour webinar, sponsored by U.S. Soy and hosted by Fastcasual.com, will provide a deep-dive examination relating to the quality, reliability and sustainability offered by soybean oil. Judy Mottl, an editor at Fastcasual.com's parent company, Networld Media Group, will serve as moderator.
The live webinar event, taking place May 19 at 11 a.m. EST., will be led by Dennis Strayer, an edible oils consultant at Qualisoy. He has over 40 years of experience in the oil seed business in analytical, processing, functional applications as well as sales and marketing.
Strayer has a background in quality control and assurance, regulatory affairs and food safety and is an active member of the American Oil Chemists' Society and Institute of Food Technologists. He has also served in the past on the Institute of Shortening and Edible Oils and Grocery Manufacturers Association technical committees.
The U.S. Soy brand is driving the promise of soy forward to transform global nutrition, provide climate-forward solutions, and support progress for people and communities around the world. U.S. Soy is powered by the innovation of the industry and the commitment of the organizations that raise awareness, build demand, develop new markets and discover new uses for soy and soy products.
U.S. grown high oleic soybean oil extends products' shelf life, offers among the longest fry life of any edible oil, features an improved fat profile and provides a neutral flavor allowing the food to be the star of the show. It is priced competitively with other high-stability alternatives.
While there is a premium on high oleic soybean oil, similar to high oleic canola oil and as compared to lower stability commodity oils, it will continue to reduce as volume increases. Transportation costs for high oleic soybean oil are more favorable than imported alternatives and will continue to decrease as domestic availability increases.
