AmRest to open first KFC in Serbia

Polish Market:Fast-food operator AmRest has signed a contract with ProFood Invest to establish a joint venture company (JVC) to operate fast-food and casual-dining restaurants in Serbia. JVC will open its first KFC in Belgrade by the end of 2007.
For the contract to be finalized, KFC parent company Yum Brands must approve the suppliers of chicken to JVC's KFC restaurants. Approval must be obtained by the end of October 2007.
With 245 units of six brands, AmRest is the largest quick-service and casual-dining restaurant operator in Central and Eastern Europe. Since the beginning of 2007, it has expanded its portfolio with Burger King and Starbucks brands.
