Arby’s is adding 25 restaurants in the northeast over the next six years as part of a deal with Franchisee AR Chain of Restaurants, according to a news release.
As part of the transaction, AR Chain bought eight ARG-owned restaurants in Philadelphia and Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, and New York and will remodel them by the end of 2018, to the brand's Inspire model.
"They are experienced operators in markets where there is runway for growth," Arby's Chief Development Officer Greg Vojnovic, said in a news release. "Further, they are committed to propelling the Arby’s brand forward and they have the ability to open impactful restaurants in key markets."
During FY 2016, Arby's achieved record-level system-wide sales, including same-store sales that increased 3.8 percent, more than double the industry average.
