Arby's aims to raise more than $3.2 million to fight childhood hunger

August 19, 2014

From August 18 until Sept. 28, Arby's restaurants will collect donations for the Arby's Foundation in support of its mission to end childhood hunger in partnership with the Share Our Strength No Kid Hungry Campaign.

Now in its fourth year, the in-store fundraiser has received commitments from more than 25 new franchisees and more than 250 new units participating. The goal of this year's fundraiser is to raise more than $3.2 million nationally, surpassing last year's record amount of $3 million.

Guests donating $1 or more at participating restaurants will receive a pin-up card to sign and hang on the walls of the restaurant to show their support. As a thank you for their donations, guests will receive a coupon for $2 off their next purchase of any full-priced sandwich or regular size meal.

"Childhood hunger is a serious but solvable problem that affects every community in this country," said Paul Brown, CEO of Arby's Restaurant Group Inc., in a statement. "With one in five children struggling with hunger, Arby's carries a vision to ensure all children in America have access to wholesome food so they can fully achieve their best. As we strive to remove obstacles and empower youth, we want to encourage and inspire our guests to do the same."

Since 2011, the fundraiser has generated more than $7.7 million, according to Arby's.
