Arby's celebrates continued consecutive quarter growth

Arby's achieved 5.8 percent U.S. same-store sales growth in Q1, and if Leap Day is included, the growth figure hits 6.6. percent, according to a company announcement.

The Q1 results represent Arby's 22nd consecutive quarter of same-store sales growth and 13th consecutive quarter of industry outperformance.

The financials come on the heels of Arby's new and existing franchise developments representing 138 new locations.

Arby also reported U.S. two year same-store sales of 15.3 percent, 16.1 percent if Leap Day is figured into account. The company attributes growth to innovative products, marketing and a strong focus on guest experience.

"Our consistent industry outperformance and business momentum continues to reinforce that our differentiated Fast Crafted restaurant experience is resonating with our target guests," said Paul Brown, CEO, Arby's Restaurant Group Inc, in the announcement. "I continue to be pleased with how our corporate and franchise teams are working together to grow sales and increase restaurant level profitability — putting us in a strong position to deliver on our strategic priority of accelerating remodels and new restaurant development."
