Arby's largest franchisee is acquiring 10 Northwestern U.S. locations and has agreements in the works to open 70 more in the next five years. United States Beef Corporation, or US Beef, has acquired 10 Washington and Idaho restaurants operated by two veteran franchisees, Cascade Beef and Riva Real Estat, according to a company press release.
"One of our growth strategies is to expand contiguously, so when this opportunity presented itself, we felt Washington was an ideal fit for expanding and aligning contiguous markets to our existing footprint, since we were already in Idaho," US Beef CEO John Davis said in a news release. "We have a proven track record of accelerating the growth of businesses that we acquire, and can leverage our technology and training strengths."
With this acquisition, US Beef now operates in the contiguous Midwest and western states of Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and Illinois. In 2015, US Beef also signed an agreement to develop 70 more restaurants with the brand by 2022.
