Arby’s names Quiznos exec to lead development

Arby’s Restaurant Group has named James Lyons senior vice president of development. Lyons joins Arby’s just as the brand initiates a “major” remodeling and expansion strategy.

 “I’m excited about the passion and drive Jim will bring to the Arby’s brand,” President/COO George Condos said in a news release. “His extensive restaurant industry experience in all areas of development – including franchise management, design, real estate, construction and operations – will greatly add to our growth and aggressive revitalization plans.”

Prior to joining Arby’s, Lyons served as the COO at Quiznos as part of the company’s turnaround efforts. Before Quiznos, he held the position of COO franchise/chief development officer at Del Taco where he was responsible for the creation of a strategic growth plan, including new market entry. Lyons also has held operational and development leadership positions with Popeyes, Burger King and Denny’s.
