Arby's new sandwich 'deer-ly' beloved in Nashville

November 2, 2016

Remember that venison sandwich we told you about last weekthat Arby's is offering as an LTO at select locations? Well, prepare for the possible coming of the deer meat sandwich revolution because the offbeat offering was not only featured in USA Today, today, but according to the article, has taken the city of Nashville by storm.

According to the newspaper, an Arby's location on Rosa Parks Blvd., there "sold out of venison sandwiches on the first day, effectively ending a promotion that was scheduled to continue through Nov. 3."

The Nashville store is the first of 17 location nationwide offering the sandwich, which is featured in states with a large and avid population of hunters right at the start of deer rutting season when many states open season for those sportsmen and women who track deer.

Arby's told USA Today that the location sold more than 250 of the venison sandwiches in just five hours with some driving more than an hour to try the limited-time offerings. The brand said the sandwiches are made with New Zealand-sourced, farm-raised red deer, because the USDA "won't allow restaurants to sell wild-harvested animals," according to Arby's Senior Brand Communications Director Luke DeRouen.
