Arby's has opened its first location in Costa Rica, according to a press release.

The brand opened in Curridabat, San José with a ribbon cutting on Nov. 24. The franchise is owned by ARBLAT, and the group plans to open additional Arby's across the country in 2023.

"As we accelerate global growth for the Arby's brand, we are excited to introduce our high-quality, fast-crafted meat sandwiches to new guests in Costa Rica," Michael Haley, president and managing director of international for parent company Inspire Brands, said in the release. "Working alongside a strong restaurant developer and operator like ARBLAT, an experienced fast food franchise manager group, I am excited about the long-term growth potential for Arby's across the country."

"Arby's is a distinctive, fan-favorite brand and an ideal addition to our portfolio of restaurants," Mario Jimenez, general manager of ARBLAT, said in the release. "Leveraging local consumer preferences and the brand's culinary expertise, we have carefully crafted a menu that reflects Arby's passion for meats, and I am very confident our guests will enjoy the result."

Arby's operates more than 150 locations across seven countries outside the U.S., with plans for further growth in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and southeast Mexico in the coming months.
