Arby's plans to start opening the first of 50 Egyptian locations next year, thanks to a development agreement with Vantage Egypt. A news release said Vantage Egypt has more than a decade of experience in brand ownership and operation across the country.
"I am very happy about working with a great, successful brand like Arby's," Vantage Egypt owner Mohamed Halawa, said in the release. "We are very determined to make Arby's one of the most successful restaurant concepts in the Egyptian Market."
This agreement adds to Arby's growth in the Middle Eastern region, where it's also opening Kuwaiti and Saudi Arabian locations in coming days through franchisee, Kharafi Global. Since 2013, the brand's global system sales have grown 20 percent to $3.7 billion.
Vantage Egypt also owns Papa John's Pizza franchises in the country and is a subsidiary of one of Egypt's largest dairy producers, Halawa Group.
