February 24, 2009
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Arby's apparently has quietly launched Roastburgers, a line of roast beef sandwiches intended to taste like and resemble premium burgers. A member's only e-mail coupon promotes the new burger and offers a free Roastburger sandwich with the purchase of a drink, through March 9. The coupon has gone viral as multiple bloggers and coupon Web sites have posted the offer.
The burgers come in three varieties:
- All-American, featuring sliced roast beef with char-grilled seasonings and buger-style toppings, including shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, sliced red onion, dill pickle slices, mustard, ketchup and special sauce
- Bacon & Bleu, featuring sliced roast beef with char-grilled seasonsings, pepper bacon, bleu cheese spread, shredded lettuce, sliced tomato and sliced red onion
- Bacon Cheddar, featuring sliced roast beef with char-grilled seasonsings, pepper bacon, a slice of cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, sliced tomato and sliced red onion
Customers who purchase a sandwich receive a promotional coupon, which includes a coupon for a free Roastburger after trying all three varieties. The coupon also includes a "One Bite Guarantee," which offers a free replacement sandwich within 30 minutes of purchase if the customer does not like the Roastburger.
Other new items listed in a recent coupon offer include:
- Roast Chicken Club Sandwich, made with sliced oven-roasted chicken
- Iced FruiTeas, Arby's signature line of freshly brewed, fruit-flavored teas in Passion Fruit, Mandarin Peach, Diet Peach and Diet Blackberry
- Swirl Shakes, in Chocolate Malt or Jamocha
