Auntie Anne's new food trucks have made their debut in Fort Wayne, Ind., and Gordonville, Pa. The company built the food trucks to capitalize on the mobile restaurant trend, according to a news release.
They offer the same soft pretzel lineup as traditional stores, including original, cinnamon sugar, pepperoni, sweet almond, garlic, and honey whole grain pretzels, as well as the brand's Old-Fashioned Lemonade and Lemonade Mixers. The bright blue trucks will visit fairs, college campuses, stadiums, concerts, festivals, flea markets and office buildings in and around their designated cities.
A hashtag of #IFoundThePretzelTruck is marked on the vehicles to encourage guests to interact on social media.
Auntie Anne's has been expanding its footprint beyond its shopping mall portfolio, with nontraditional locations such as amusement parks, casinos, airports, universities and more. Auntie Anne's food trucks are an extension of this strategy. As the demand for these on-the-go units grows, the brand expects to introduce more to the organization.
After being in the Auntie Anne's system for 20 years and owning three locations, franchise partner Kent Byler said he is pleased with the opportunity to expand his business with a mobile store. "I anticipate the food truck will be welcomed with open arms," he said.
