Auntie Anne's Pretzels has announced its entry into two new countries with recently opened locations in Reina Beatrix Airport in Aruba and Gold Mall in Rishon LeZion, Israel.
The Israeli franchise owners, Michel Sabag and Itzik Gola, have signed an agreement that will bring a total of 15 Auntie Anne's units to the country by 2019, including three locations in the Tel Aviv Metro area, anticipated to open within the next 12 months.
The new airport location in Aruba, which opened in July 2014, has exceeded expectations and has become a top performing business in the Reina Beatrix Airport based on hourly sales, according to a news release.
"It is amazing to see when we enter a new country how many people already know the Auntie Anne's brand," Focus Brands President Tony Pavese said in the release. "We are thrilled to be able to share our fresh-baked snacks with new markets and look forward to furthering our presence in Aruba and Israel. The successful entry into these two countries, in both our traditional mall setting and non-traditional locations, is providing momentum for continued international growth."
Auntie Anne's is currently in 48 states and more than 30 countries. The franchise has recently entered Canada and is looking at potential international development opportunities in Brazil, Mexico, Singapore and Taiwan.
