Auntie Anne's Inc. has been named as the Pennsylvania state winner for the Restaurant Neighbor Award, presented by the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation.
The pretzel brand was specifically recognized because of work with its charitable partners, Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation and The First Tee.
"As a company founded with the purpose of giving back, we're proud to continue that vision 26 years later through our charitable efforts with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation and The First Tee," President and COO Bill Dunn said in a news release.
Since forming a national charitable partnership with ALSF in September 2011, the company has raised more than $1 million dollars for childhood cancer research through in-store fundraising campaigns, coin canisters, local pretzel rolling contests and Auntie Anne's C.A.R.E.S. Charity Golf Tournament. In a continued effort to fund cures for childhood cancer, Auntie Anne's will be launching its third annual fundraising campaign in stores this summer.
Auntie Anne's and The First Tee, a youth development organization that provides educational programs using golf as a platform, partnered in 2013.
