May 16, 2017

A&W has opened seven units so far this year, with 11 more sites in development, according to a news release.

Traditional outlets of the brand have opened their doors in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, and Fowlerville, Michigan, while five more shops have opened in gas and convenience store developments in Barron, Wisconsin and Tonkawa, Oklahoma, as well as Dinuba, California, Sigourney, Iowa and Orbisonia, Pennsylvania.

Future c-store locations slated to open this year include Freemont, Nebraska and Bemidji, Minnesota, as well as Berkeley and Hayward in California, Salome, Arizona, and Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Traditional restaurants are under construction in Siren, Wisconsin, Florrisant, Missouri and Carbondale, Illinois, as well as two Utah stores in Stansbury and Taylorsville.

"It is gratifying that many of our new restaurants are being opened by current franchise partners," A&W President and CEO Kevin Bazner said in a news release.

The chain is also remodeling more than 100 locations that are co-branded with KFC this year. The remodeling has been shown to increase sales at units, a news release said. There are 30 remodeling projects underway.
