Mobivity Holdings Corp. announced that Baskin-Robbins has selected Mobivity's SmartReceipt technology to deliver targeted "treats on receipts" – offers and promotions – to its customers, printed on their purchase receipts.
According to a news release, SmartReceipt, which is installed on a company's POS system, reads purchase data in real-time when generating a printed receipt. This enables Baskin-Robbins to ensure that coupons and offers are relevant and personalized given what the consumer actually purchased, rather than generic non-targeted offers.
"The ability to deliver personalized, valuable consumer offers and promotions via receipt content will allow us to provide a better guest experience and drive more business for our franchisees," President Bill Mitchell said in the release. "Our field tests with SmartReceipt have shown that the right offer at the right time, delivered at the point-of-sale, adds great value for our customers. We look forward to launching this technology at Baskin-Robbins shops nationwide."
Following the successful results from trials at select Baskin-Robbins shops, the brand plans to begin deploying the SmartReceipt technology at its US restaurants by the end of the year.
