Much of Baskin-Robbins' sales come from its international presence. The world's largest ice cream chain has more than 6,000 units worldwide.
And now the company is looking to continue its global growth plan. According to Rediff Business, Baskin-Robbins has its eye on smaller-sized cities throughout India.
Baskin-Robbins India's largest franchisee, Graviss Foods, said the growth strategy includes new product launches specifically targeting middle-class customers. The initial plan is to add between 80 and 90 stores per year. The company also intends on expanding throughout other South Asian countries.
Baskin-Robbins was launched in India in 1993.
"We're a big, global company that is continuing to grow all over the world," said Brian O'Mara, Baskin-Robbins' vice president of marketing. "Ice cream is loved by everyone."
