Baskin-Robbins has launched its "Cakes for the Community" campaign, a month-long fundraiser for The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto. As part of the campaign, Baskin-Robbins is introducing a limited edition heart-shaped cake decorated in the colors of SickKids, teal or blue trimmed with white.

The cake retails for $14.95, and 31 percent of the sales price from each cake will be donated to SickKids throughout the course of the fundraiser. The cakes can be customized with each guest's favorite ice cream flavor from the brand’s lineup.

"We're proud to continue our relationship with SickKids and to give back to the community in this special way," Rick Woods, VP of Operations, said in a news release."The funds raised over the course of our 'Cakes for the Community' campaign will help SickKids in its important work to improve the health of children across the Greater Toronto Area and throughout the country."

Baskin-Robbins franchisees will also collect in-store donations throughout the month of September to benefit SickKids Foundation. Guests who make an in-store donation will be given a decorative paper cake on which to sign their name and post in their local shop.

This is the second year that Baskin-Robbins has raised funds for SickKids. In 2013, the company held a similar event, Cones for the Community, which raised close to $50,000 for the hospital.
