Baskin-Robbins names dance video contest winner

Baskin-Robbins has announced the three winners in the Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream and Cake Dance Video Contest. The online contest asked Americans to channel their love of Baskin-Robbins and ice cream cake into creative dance videos for a chance to win a $10,000 grand prize and other rewards. Baskin-Robbins is pleased to announce Gotta Dance Studio of Granada Hills, Calif., as the grand prize winner of the contest.
 
Baskin-Robbins received more than 500 submissions between July 29 and Sept. 9. The five semifinalist videos were chosen based on choreography, originality/creativity, overall visual appeal and public votes. These videos then competed in a second round of public voting and judging for the chance to win one Grand Prize of $10,000 and $1,000 in ice cream cake gift certificates; a first prize of $5,000 and $500 in ice cream cake gift certificates; and one second prize of $1,000 and $100 in ice cream cake gift certificates.
  
Gotta Dance Studio submitted their video in tribute to Steve Gebelein, co-owner of Gotta Dance
Studio, who passed away in February 2009. More than 60 studentsparticipated in an on-stage performance to raise money for Christy,Steve's wife and co-owner, along with their six children.
 
Thestudents will use the prize money to repair the studio's leaking roof.
 
Alli Bivins, a teacher at Gotta Dance Studio, said the best reward washaving all the kids get together to film the video and enjoyBaskin-Robbins ice cream cakes.
 
 
 
 
 
First prize winner was CRHS Cudettes, a Miami-based danceteam.The team will use the money to goto a national dance competition. Click here towatchthe CRHS Cudettes.
 
Second prize winner was Henry and Lady K out of Los Angeles. Kimba Rogers,also known as Lady K, is the godmotherto Henry, age seven. Kimba andHenry were inspired by the Ice Cream and Cake song to create a dancevideo.Lady K and Henry plan to use their prize moneyto fund more good times together and frequent trips to Baskin-Robbins.
