The ice cream chain is looking to expand in California.

Baskin-Robbins announced Wednesday the company is recruiting franchisees in California to develop shops in San Diego and San Francisco. Currently, there are more than 450 Baskin-Robbins locations throughout California with one new shop in development in Fresno under franchise group Khalsa Ice Cream, according to a company press release.
"We’re looking for motivated entrepreneurs who have a passion for their local communities to join our team and take advantage of the many perks that Baskin-Robbins offers," said Grant Benson, CFE, vice president of global franchising and business development, Dunkin’ Brands. "This is a great opportunity for anyone who has ever thought about owning their own ice cream shop. Baskin-Robbins continues to increase its presence around the world, and we’re excited to continue to foster and grow our relationship with California ice cream lovers."

Also, entrepreneurs interested in learning about opportunities across the U.S. can join a Baskin-Robbins Franchising Webinar from noon to 1 p.m. (PST) Thursday, Sept. 24.
As part of the company’s growth throughout California, a new ice cream shop will be developed in Fresno with franchise group Khalsa Ice Cream, the release stated. The store will open at 5125 W. Goshen Avenue in December.
Baskin-Robbins has more than 7,600 retail shops in nearly 50 countries. It is headquartered in Canton, Massachusetts, and is part of Dunkin' Brands Group Inc.
