It’s salty, portable, and goes great with beer, so it may have been a foregone conclusion that Ben’s Soft Pretzels would become popular fodder for sports arenas. In fact, the twisted treats have been selling so well, they’re now moving into new arenas and universities to begin their beer-dunking duties with a whole new base of fans.
This season, the brand announced in a news release it’s signed on with the Indiana Pacers, Auburn University, Purdue University and Indiana State University athletic departments, to sell the dough-y snacks at sports events year-round. The pretzels are already a big hit with fans of University of Notre Dame football, basketball and hockey, as well as University of Wisconsin football, basketball and wrestling, Indiana University football, Murray State University basketball, South Bend Cubs minor league baseball, Gary SouthShore RailCats minor league baseball, Schaumburg Boomers minor league baseball, and the Fort Wayne Komets minor league hockey team.
The pretzel franchises are also popular in other high-traffic venues like Wal-Mart and Meijer super centers, as well as malls.
