Georgia-based Big Dave's Cheesesteaks has announced a five-unit deal for South Carolina, marking the brand's second franchising deal in less than a month, according to a press release.

The deal was inked with entrepreneurs Mark Brown, a personal injury lawyer, and Frank Williams III, also known as The Shuler King, a renowned comedian and funeral home owner. The pair will target Columbia, Greenville and Spartanburg for their first locations.

"I consider myself a foodie and have always been interested in the restaurant industry. I've been following Big Dave's for a few years. As soon as I heard that Big Dave's was franchising, I immediately reached out. I knew I wanted to work with this brand," Brown said in the release.

"I'm excited to be a part of the Big Dave's Cheesesteak brand. Derrick and his wife are great people who are building a legacy and creating opportunities for others. They're exactly what Marc Brown and I stand for," Williams said in the release.

Big Dave's Cheesesteaks Owner Derrick Hayes said he's excited for the team to take his brand to South Carolina, especially since he's only be franchising for a few months.

"Locking in my second franchise deal in under 30 days feels surreal — and this is just the beginning. There's a lot more brewing in the pipeline as we ride this wave of incredible growth," Hayes said in the release.

Big Dave's Cheesesteaks has a presence across Georgia and in the Mercedes Benz Stadium. The brand will open a location in Charlotte, North Carolina, this spring.
