Billionaire Wendy's Director buys 4 million more shares in brand

December 7, 2016

Billionaire Wendy's Director Nelson Peltz filed Form 4 disclosures Tuesday detailing that he and Trian Fund Management, where he is CEO, purchased approximately 4 million shares of Wendy's stock between Dec. 2 and Dec. 6, according to Securities and Exchange Commission filings. The shares were purchased at anywhere from $12.62 to $12.96, bringing Trian's current shares in the QSR to 44,535,921 total.

Peltz also owns more than 10 million more shares of Wendy's stock, as well as being involved in Arby's through Triarc Companies, where he is chairman. Triarc franchises Arby's restaurant in North America.

The form 4 documents filed this week disclosing the transactions are required within two days of such investments by a company's insiders, like Peltz, or by stockholder's with more than a 10-percent stake in a company.
