BK Canada customers get whiplash

November 28, 2010

Burger King Restaurants of Canada have turned up the heat just in time for Old Man Winter. New to the lineup is the Whiplash Whopper, the spiciest burger to ever hit BK Canada's menu.

It is available for a limited time only at participating units.

The Whiplash Whopper is served on a traditional bun and features a 100-percent beef patty, two slices of Pepper Jack cheese, hot red peppers, spicy mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato and ketchup.

The new sandwich will be served across Canada until Feb. 13. The traditional Whopper will also be available during this time, and both will be served during the breakfast daypart.

"Reserved for spice-lovers only, the Whiplash Whopper gives Canadians even more to love in this Burger King classic – with an added kick,” said Jason Keown, senior director of marketing at BK Canada.

The chain will launch a national advertising campaign to support the Whiplash Whopper launch, covering television, radio and online markets.

The LTO item debuted in the United States in April to coincide with the release of “Iron Man 2.”
