Blimpie is upping the spice quotient this summer on sandwiches by introducing new barbecue concoctions including the Spicy Piggy, Twisted Piggy and BBQ Chick as part of a limited-time menu. As of this week, customers can also order sriracha glaze and Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce on any Blimpie sandwich.
"The Spicy Piggy packs a powerful punch for those who can take the heat," said Blimpie VP of Marketing Steve Evans. "The Twisted Piggy presents a tasty new take on our fan-favorite pretzel bread. And the barbecue Chick offers a sweet alternative to those who prefer chicken to pork."
The Hearth, Patio and Barbecue Association reports two of the nation's biggest barbecue holidays take place in summer, on July 4 and Labor Day, according to a news release.
"Blimpie franchisees across the country are ready and willing to bring the barbecue to the party this summer season," said Evans.
