Boardwalk Fresh Burgers & Fries expands

July 21, 2010

New Jersey joins five other states in bringing Boardwalk Fresh Burgers & Fries to its soil. The restaurant is the sister company of Boardwalk Fries, the only national french fry brand in the United States. It first opened in 2007, inspired by boardwalk in Ocean City, Md., and features a beach-themed environment.

There are currently seven locations open in Virginia, Maryland, Georgia, Pennsylvania and California. Additionally, 60 units are in development in Virginia, Georgia, California, Michigan, New Jersey and the Middle East.

For the New Jersey site, Brian and Barbara Rodak have signed on to develop Boardwalk and are currently evaluating real estate spots for their first restaurant.

“We chose Boardwalk Fresh Burgers & Fries after we tasted their food," Brian Rodak said. "It was one of the best burgers I had ever tasted. The fries were outstanding and in a class by themselves.  We are confident that people in our area will enjoy Boardwalk Fresh Burgers and Fries as much as we do. We were also drawn to the strong franchisee support the brand offers.”

Boardwalk has attracted restaurant industry veterans to become franchisees, including Kert Gennings, former chief operating officer for Jersey Mikes and Chesapeake Bagel Bakery,

Boardwalk offers made to order beef burgers and Boardwalk fries which are cooked in 100 percent peanut oil.
