Boardwalk Fresh Burgers & Fries has signed a master franchising deal with Florida entrepreneur Irene Jung for 50-plus units throughout Florida. The Boardwalk Fresh Burgers & Fries concept currently has five locations open in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and California, and will soon be opening a sixth location in Sandy Springs, Ga. There are an additional 188 Boardwalk Fresh Burgers & Fries restaurants in development in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina and the Middle East.
Prior to joining Boardwalk Fresh Burgers & Fries, Jung was corporate controller for Mediacopy, an international company that produced videocassettes and DVDs for Hollywood movie studios and had annual sales in excess of $150 million dollars.
Jung plans to open four corporate locations in South Florida and then begin franchising the rest of the state.
"I investigated several fast food franchises, and fell in love with the Boardwalk Fresh Burgers & Fries concept. It is the 'here and now' of fast food. Everything is fresh and made to order," said Jung in a news release.
Boardwalk Fresh Burgers & Fries has expanded rapidly in the United States, attracting several restaurant industry veterans including the former CEO of Caribou Coffee and former chief operations office of Jersey Mike's. With a successful partner in place for the entire state of Florida, Boardwalk Fresh Burgers & Fries will continue to expand its global vision with a development focus in Europe, Asia and the rest of the Americas.
Boardwalk Fresh Burgers & Fries features made-to-order, fresh-ground, hand-pattied beef burgers and fresh-cut Boardwalk fries. The New York Times ranked Boardwalk Fries on their 2008 baseball stadium culinary scorecard, and AOL Small Business listed Boardwalk Fresh Burgers & Fries in their 2009 "Next Big Chain" report.
