Bojangles' announces five years of comp growth

August 20, 2008

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Bojangles' Restaurants Inc. has announced it has achieved a company and quick-service industry milestone with its 60th consecutive month of same-store sales increases at its 147 corporate-owned locations. Thursday, July 31, 2008, was the five-year mark for same-store month-over-month increases.

In addition to the milestone, Bojangles' has opened its 415th location. Bojangles' forecasts total systemwide revenue for 2008 to surpass $635 million — another first-time achievement for the chain.

"The brand's growth has become a solid trend each month with new sales records and strategically planned store openings," said Eric Newman, executive vice president for Bojangles' Restaurants.

The company's franchised restaurants also are performing well. Average revenue at the chain's 270 franchise locations has exceeded previous company records, exceeding $1.75 million for full-size franchise locations.

Throughout the remainder of 2008, the company will increase its presence with openings slated for Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee.

Each of the new Bojangles' restaurants are built to the specs outlined in the chain's recently introduced prototype. Interior and exterior designs reflect a shift toward fast casual dining.
