Bojangles' boxes up fall tailgate parties

Bojangles' success last football season with its Caroline Panthers-emblazoned "Big Bo Box" did so well for the brand that it's expanding the idea this year to include a commemorative 25th season-themed box for the Panthers, as well as nine more teams across the South, a news release said.
All 10 boxes are now available, which Bojangles' is promoting as both a way to promote individual teams and scene-setters filled with its food for tailgating parties.
"Kicking off with our hometown team was a great test last year," Bojangles' CMO Jackie Woodward, said in the release. "It's even more exciting to expand to a new NFL market for the 2019-2020 season and feature some of the top college football programs in the nation, such as the Alabama Crimson Tide, Clemson Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs. These new boxes allow fans to not just throw a tailgate, but own the tailgate with Bojangles."
In addition to the Carolina Panthers, a Tennessee Titans box will also be available for NFL fans throughout that state, the brand said. Featured college teams with boxes available exclusively in that team's primary market include:
- University of Alabama.
- Clemson University.
- East Tennessee State University.
- University of Georgia.
- James Madison University.
- University of South Carolina.
- University of Virginia.
- Western Carolina University.
To get a Big Bo Box, customers must order one of Bojangles' eight-, 12- or 20-piece tailgate specials with their choice of sides, biscuits and tea. All the cups, plates and utensils are also provided.
The brand is also prompting customers to send pictures of tailgating parties with the boxes, by using #LongLiveTheTailgate and tagging @Bojangles1977 on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for the chance to be shared on the brand's social media. The brand has more than 763 restaurants.
