Bojangles' celebrates 100 stores, more than 30 years In S.C.
March 22, 2010
Bojangles' is celebrating more than 30 years and 100 stores in the South Carolina market with a state-wide tour. The brand's Cruisin' S.C. R.V. will stop at each Bojangles' location, where members of the community will have the chance to receive a free biscuit of their choice and other special gifts.
Along each tour stop, customers can take advantage of rollback pricing that day, when items from sausage biscuits to an eight-piece/four-biscuit box of Bojangles' chicken will be the same price as they were in 1979 — the year the first Bojangles' opened in South Carolina. Customers also can register to win one of 100 Bahamas cruises. One cruise winner will be selected for each South Carolina Bojangles' location.
"Our Bojangles' team wanted to do something very special to celebrate our 100 stores and more than 30 years of Bojangles' heritage in South Carolina," Bojangles' president and CEO Randy Kibler said in a news release. "We wanted it to be something everyone in the state could participate in.
Honoring teachers
Along with this statewide tour, Bojangles' is honoring one of the state's greatest resources: its teachers. In partnership with South Carolina Future Minds, Bojangles' is sponsoring this year's Teacher of the Year Program.
"Everyone has a teacher they can thank for at least one thing they've achieved in life," Kibler said. "By partnering with South Carolina Future Minds' Teacher of the Year Program, Bojangles' is able to thank some of the state's best teachers for all that they do. This program gives us the chance to honor the many great achievements these 85 teachers have made in shaping the future of South Carolina's children."
Throughout the state, Bojangles' is hosting parties for faculty and staff members at more than 50 schools in honor of Teachers of the Year and is donating nearly 1,600 books to libraries of public schools throughout the state.
Founded in 1977 in Charlotte, N.C., Bojangles' Restaurants Inc. has more than 465 total locations throughout the Southeast, with 299 franchised and 166 company-operated locations. By the end of 2010, Bojangles' will have approximately 500 locations open.
