Bojangles’ Restaurants Inc. has opened its 600th location and is opening one restaurant every six days. According to a news release, the Charlotte, N.C.-based chain expects to open 55 to 60 locations throughout the Southeast this year, adding new restaurants in more than 25 market areas including Atlanta, Birmingham, Ala., Orlando, Fla., Richmond, Va., and Nashville, Knoxville and Tri-Cities, Tenn.
Additionally, the company said average unit volumes are growing, with the average restaurant’s sales registering more than $1,725,000. Bojangles’ is on track to reach $1 billion in system-wide sales in Q3, the release said. Last year, according to Technomic data, Bojangles’ U.S. sales were $922,876,000, a 6.8-percent jump from 2012.
“We approach growth in a way to build toward our strength as much as possible,” EVP Eric Newman said in the release. “As we continue to grow, our focus will remain on building market share and elevating brand awareness within the areas we do business even as we gradually expand and strengthen that footprint.”
