September 17, 2009
Bojangles' Restaurants Inc. executives, franchisees and vendors came together for a day of golf earlier this week and raised $153,635 to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
The Bojangles' 11th Annual Golf Classic was held Sept. 15th at The Golf Club at Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge in Charlotte, N.C. The event is a major annual fundraiser for the MDA, helping the organization to fight against 43 neuromuscular diseases through worldwide research, a nationwide network of hospital-affiliated clinics and far-reaching professional and public health education. MDA receives no government funding and charges no fees to the patients and families it serves. Charlotte's MDA clinic is located at Carolinas Medical Center.
During its 11 years of hosting the Bojangles' Golf Classic, the restaurant chain has raised more than $1.25 million for the MDA.
"Bojangles' is proud to be one of the largest donors to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in the Charlotte area," said Randy Poindexter, senior vice president of Bojangles' Restaurants. "The Bojangles' Golf Classic is a great event and we are committed to supporting the MDA in its mission of finding a cure and helping those with neuromuscular diseases."
