Bojangles’ honors top franchisees

During its annual franchise convention last week, Bojangles' held its awards banquet to honor the franchise community and recognize select organizations with the company's highest awards – Developer of the Year and Top Performing Franchise Group.

The company's Developer of the Year was awarded to David and Cheri Maisel of Jeniel LLC, as well as Jeff Rigsby of Bojangles' Western North Carolina LLC. Jeniel recently opened its 10th restaurant in the Pee Dee region of South Carolina, and Jeff Rigsby and Bojangles' Western North Carolina LLC, just opened their 20th store in Marion, N.C.

As the franchise group with the highest comparable sales increase, Justin and Sally Haddock of New Generation Foods, in northern Alabama, took home the Top Performing Franchise Group award.

Also, after undergoing a meticulous evaluation process based on customer satisfaction, food quality and overall experience, Unit Director Dare Marley and her Bojangles' restaurant, owned by Huff Bo franchise group and located in North Wilkesboro, N.C., won first place out of more than 300 franchise locations in Bojangles' 2011 Show Bo competition. Marley was awarded a $10,000 prize.

Unit Director Nancy Valentino of Arrington Enterprises' Bojangles' in Rocky Mount, Va., was awarded second place and $3,000. Third place and a $2,000 prize were awarded to Unit Director Alex Medina of Trickum Ops LLC's Bojangles' in Atlanta.

The assessment for the Show Bo competition includes two rounds of unannounced inspections conducted by a team of two judges at both the lunch and dinner dayparts. Each judge awards points to restaurants based on a rigorous set of operating standards.
