Bojangles' will open its first full-service college location at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) on Nov. 7.
To bring the new location to fruition, the chain partnered with UNCG Dining Services, which is operated by Chartwells, a division of Compass Group USA Inc.
The Bojangles' is situated in the Jefferson Suites, the newest and greenest residence hall on the campus. Spanning 3,400 square feet, the full-service restaurant is located in a LEED-Certified building. It is the first Bojangles' Chartwells will operate.
"We are proud to be working together with Chartwells to offer Bojangles' famous chicken, biscuits and ice tea directly to UNCG, and we are proud of this additional connection to the city of Greensboro and the University," said Eric Newman, executive vice president for Bojangles' Restaurants Inc.
Greensboro's new Bojangles' can seat up to 60 guests. The unique interior and exterior design blends quick-service with a casual dining atmosphere. More than 40 local residents and students are employed at the new restaurant.
Scott Milman, director of Auxiliary Services for UNCG, said the university students were involved in the decision on what restaurant to bring to campus. UNCG Dining Services worked with the Residence Hall Association (RHA) and Student Government Association (SGA) to develop a list of potential concepts.
"Taking the feedback from the meetings with these student groups, a list of possible restaurants was compiled, and we worked with RHA and SGA to have the students vote for their favorite. In the end, Bojangles' is in Jefferson Suites because UNCG students wanted Bojangles' in Jefferson Suites," he said.
The new UNCG location joins 52 other Bojangles' restaurants throughout the Triad region.
