Bojangles' raised a record-breaking $536,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association during its 13th annual Shamrocks Against Dystrophy in-store fundraiser, the chain announced.
According to a news release, the funds raised from the campaign will help send 660 kids affected by neuromuscular diseases to MDA summer camp this year.
From Feb. 28 through March 16, Bojangles' customers at all company-owned restaurants and participating franchised locations were given the opportunity to support the campaign by purchasing a green shamrock for $1 or a gold shamrock for $5. Customers who purchased a green shamrock received a coupon for a free Bo-Berry Biscuit. Customers who purchased a gold shamrock received a coupon for a free Bojangles' Sausage Biscuit.
An MDA partner of 16 years, Bojangles' has raised more than $3.5 million through the Shamrocks Against Dystrophy Fundraiser each spring and the MDA Golf Classic each fall.
