Burger King comps increase

MIAMI — Comparable-store sales for Burger King Holdings Inc. rose 3.4 percent for the 2007 fiscal year ended June 30. The company reported worldwide comparable sales increased 4.4 percent for the fourth quarter, making it the 14th consecutive quarter of positive comp increases.
In the United States and Canada, comparable sales were up 4.8 percent for the quarter and 3.6 percent for the year, the 13th consecutive quarter of positive comparable sales growth.
The company posted strong revenues for the fourth quarter of $590 million — an increase of 11 percent compared to the same quarter last year.For the fiscal year, Burger King reported record revenues of $2.2 billion — an increase of 9 percent compared to $2 billion for fiscal 2006.
Net income for the quarter increased to $36 million from a loss of $10 million during the same period last year.For the year, Burger King's net income was $148 million compared with net income of $27 million in fiscal 2006.
