Burger King fans show off their moves

August 25, 2010

Burger King Corp.'s Next Best Move, the company's largest tour in its history, has come to an end. Fans crowned Shane Wise, of Warrensburg, Mo., as winner of the competition, which provided non-professional athletes the opportunity to showcase their basketball skills and highlight the impact they're making through community service.

The inaugural tour hit 41 cities in five months, and was headlined by reality TV star Syrus Yarborough. One semi-finalist in each market was selected through online votes to compete against top-ranked players for a chance to win $10,000.

The competition also featured participants' efforts on a variety of philanthropic efforts in their communities.

"BK Next Best Move provided consumers with access to not only what is happening in the basketball world, but also in urban communities across the U.S.," said Patricia Trevino, director, promotions and multicultural marketing, BCK. "We recognize the importance of giving back and this tour was the ideal opportunity for us to showcase our community service initiatives in each of the participating cities."
