Burger King introduces low-fat chocolate milk
June 27, 2006
ROSEMONT, Ill. — Burger King restaurants nationwide will now offer Hershey's low-fat (1 percent) white and chocolate milk in resealable 8-ounce plastic bottles.
According to a news release, the milk is a new menu item and also can be ordered with a Kids Meal.
Burger King said two out of three kids are not getting the recommended three servings of dairy each day.
"Helping kids get the nutrition they need from a beverage they enjoy is important to America's dairy farmers, so we're pleased that Burger King has expanded its offerings to include Hershey's low-fat white and chocolate milk," said Paul Rovey, an Arizona dairy producer and chairman, Dairy Management Inc. "We understand the importance of flavor and packaging with kids, and the new milks make it easier for parents to make sure their kids are getting the nutrients they need every day."
