January 22, 2013

From now through Feb. 17, participating Burger King restaurants will feature the brand's classic original chicken sandwich and its specialty varieties, including the new Philly original chicken sandwich and the Italian original chicken sandwich, through an offer to buy one sandwich, get one of equal or lesser value for free.

Flavia Faugeres, executive vice president and global chief marketing officer, said Burger King brought this deal back for guests because of its popularity.

"Our guests loved this deal so much the last time it was available that we decided to give them the opportunity to double up on their favorites, and maybe even share it with their Valentine," Faugeres said.

A menu staple for more than 35 years, the original chicken sandwich is a lightly breaded, premium white meat chicken breast fillet topped with lettuce and mayonnaise, all on a toasted sesame seed bun. Suggested retail price starts at $4.49.
