Burger King kicks off philanthropy event

Burger King McLamore Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Burger King, has launched its 2016 in-store fundraiser, benefiting the Burger King Scholars Program. The fundraising event — which takes place through Oct. 31— encourages guests to donate a dollar to raise funds for a local youngster to attend college. 

"The fall fundraiser gives hope to deserving students by bringing them one step closer to a college education," said Jose Cil, Burger King brand president and president of the Burger King McLamore Foundation, in a release.
