Burger King restaurants are introducing what the chain is calling its spiciest product yet, new Fiery Chicken Fries. Available for a limited time only, the chain said. Fiery Chicken Fries are made with the same white meat chicken as original Chicken Fries, flavored with a marinade of cayenne pepper, black pepper and other spices "that will make your mouth cry," according to a company announcement.
Burger King restaurants brought back Chicken Fries as a permanent menu item in March due to social media demands, the announcement said. And with more than half of all Americans surveyed saying they prefer very spicy foods*, Fiery Chicken Fries were developed in an effort "to create a flavor experience somewhere between pleasure and OM#G," the company said.
"Chicken Fries fans are already pretty extreme, but we wanted to test the limits of their taste buds with an even spicier version of the original -- Fiery Chicken Fries," said Eric Hirschhorn, CMO North America, Burger King Corp. "More than a quarter of taste testers even told us Fiery Chicken Fries were 'spicy as $#*!,' so when we heard that reaction we knew we had found the perfect level of heat."
Fiery Chicken Fries packaging is designed to fit into a car cup holder, and comes with a built-in sauce holder. BK dipping sauces available include new Chicken Fries Sauce, BBQ, Honey Mustard, Ranch, Zesty, Buffalo and Sweet & Sour.
Fiery Chicken Fries have a recommended unit price of $2.89 with nine pieces per order. They're available now at participating Burger King restaurants nationwide for a limited time only, while supplies last. Original Chicken Fries will remain a permanent menu item during and after the Fiery Chicken Fries limited time offer period.
