May 15, 2008
MIAMI — Burger King Corp. has rolled out a promotion tied to the release of the movie "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." The promotion features the special edition Indy Double Whopper sandwich, a "Reveal the Secret" scratch-and-win game, a "Big Dig" online game and a series of Kids Meal toys.
The Indy Double Whopper sandwich features two quarter-pound burger patties topped with two slices of melted pepper jack cheese, four slices of crispy bacon, spicy Cajun mayo, tomatoes, lettuce and onions on a toasted sesame seed bun. The new sandwich is available for a limited time only at participating Burger King restaurants for a suggested retail price of $4.29.
The "Reveal the Secret" game challenges restaurant guests to make decisions inspired by Indiana Jones. Prizes include $1 million, a 2008 Hummer H2, a trip for four to Peru, free food items from Burger King restaurants and more.
Game pieces are available while supplies last with the purchase of select Burger King food items in the U.S., including large and king-sized French fries and medium, large and king-sized drinks. Game pieces also are available on value meals.
Burger King also launched a series of eight adventure-themed Kids Meal toys based on key scenes from all four Indiana Jones movies, as well as a Kids Meal bag printed in invisible ink. Each bag is printed with Indy trivia, and answers can only be revealed using the invisible ink pen, one of the Kids Meal toys.
