Burger King sells 121 units to franchisee

Burger King Corp. has sold 121 restaurants to Heartland Food Corp., the company's second largest franchisee in the world.

According to Omaha.com, the deal includes 51 units in the Omaha, Neb., area, 43 in Chicago and 27 in Nashville, Tenn.

Heartland now owns Burger King locations in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan and in Canada.

Terms of the acquisition include restaurant remodels, which will be completed within the next four years. Financial details were not disclosed.

This move comes nearly three months after Burger King sold 278 restaurants to Carrols Restaurant Group Inc.
