Burger King suspends all corporate support to Russian franchisee

Burger King has suspended corporate support to its Russian market which is managed by a local master franchisee, according to a press release.
The suspension of support "including operations, marketing and supply chain in addition to refusing approvals for investment and expansion," according to the release.
Burger King had previously announced it will redirect any profits from franchised operations to humanitarian aid for Ukrainian refugees and has made a $1 million donation to the UNHCR. The QSR's franchisees, in more than 25 European countries, are partnering with local NGOs to distribute $2 million of free Whopper meal vouchers to Ukrainian refugees.
Burger King operates more than 29,000 restaurants in more than 100 countries.
