December 5, 2006
MIAMI — The International Market for Retail Real Estate, a European organization known as MAPIC, honored Burger King with its highest honor at the organization's annual convention in Cannes, France, in late November.
The award recognizes Europe's leading development initiatives in the retail and leisure arena. About 10,000 major retailers, leisure operators, developers, investors and agents were considered for the award, and Burger King was named best in the sector.
"We are honored to receive this prestigious award from our colleagues in Europe," said Gary John, senior vice president of international development at Burger King Corp. "Burger King has a strong guest loyalty and an outstanding brand presence, and we are continually exploring ways to grow the business further in the region."
