Burger King worker gets misdemeanor for poisoning fries

The Daily Times (Farmington, N.M.):A former Burger King employee, who faced felony charges after putting powdered bleach on french fries served to customers, was convicted of a petty misdemeanor by a Farmington, N.M., district court jury Aug. 1, 2008. She will face a maximum of six months in jail.
Marisa Howard, 26, had been charged with three third-degree felonies, including aggravated battery and two counts of child abuse. But after deliberating for nearly two hours Friday, a jury found the action represented a single simple battery and dismissed all felony charges against the woman.
