Burger King wraps up first Futbol Kingdom tour

MIAMI —Burger King Corp.concluded the 2008 Futbol Kingdom tour in Miami's Tropical Park, after debuting in August throughout seven markets across the United States. The interactive series of street-level futbol events reached thousands of attendees in key Spanish dominant markets as well as second- and third-generation Hispanics on a national level.
Futbol Kingdom included SoccerShowdown, an internationally known European team of champion freestyle and street ball players in their U.S. debut. Celebrity appearances included world-renowned soccer players and experts, such as Mexican soccer player Jorge Campos, ESPN Radio's Spanish-language sportscaster Jorge Ramos and world champion player Teofilo "Nene" Cubillas of Peru.
Eventgoers were encouraged to participate in the various activities for a chance to receive Dr Pepper and Burger King giveaways. In addition, Burger King Fresh Apple Fries and Dr Pepper product sampling were available at selected events. Admission to the events was free.
