Burger King's Big King burger returns for good

November 6, 2013

Burger King's Big King burger is back on the menu, this time as a permanent offering.

The burger, which is similar to McDonald's signature Big Mac, first made its debut in 1997, according to USA Today. The updated version even includes a middle bun, as well as two beef patties, lettuce, white onions, pickles, signature "King" sauce and a sesame seed bun.

Burger King is focusing on the Big King's key differentiator on its social media channels, using the tagline: "Taste the fire-grilled difference."

"What makes the new Big King different than any other burger on the market is the unique fire-grilling that Burger King has been known for, for almost 60 years," said Eric Hirschhorn, chief marketing officer, North America. "With our flavorful, signature King Sauce and the fulfilling bite of two savory fire-grilled patties layered between three toasted buns, the Big King delivers a stacked burger experience that we know everyone loves."

The Big King is available for $3.69.
