Burke Corp. promotes two

NEVADA, Iowa — Precooked meat producer Burke Corp. has promoted Andrew Michaelsen from product development manager to industrial sales manager, the company has announced. Michaelsen will be responsible for managing sales activities within the industrial division and marketing Burke's fully cooked meat products to be included in other manufacturers' prepared foods.
 
Prior to joining Burke, Michaelsen worked as a research assistant at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. He earned a bachelor's degree in agriculture studies and a master's degree in meat science and animal science at Iowa State University.
 
The company has also promoted Alex Segebart from meat technologist to product development manager within the research and development department. Segebart will be responsible for supervising a team of product development technicians and developing custom formulations according to customer specifications.
 
Prior to joining Burke, Segebart was a technical service representative for Jif-Pak Inc. in Vista, Calif. He earned a bachelor's degree in agriculture studies with an agronomy minor from Iowa State University.
